We are Dark Sky Basketball

Dark Sky Elite is a rising force in youth basketball, providing young athletes in Northern Arizona with the chance to compete at a high level. Founded in 2023 by Alex Santiago and Billy Francis, the program was born from their shared passion for the game and their desire to give their children—and other young players—the same competitive experiences they enjoyed growing up.

What started as a small program with just two teams, a 14U boys team and a 12U girls team, quickly evolved into something much bigger. By season two, Dark Sky Elite expanded to ten teams, creating even more opportunities for athletes to travel, challenge themselves, and develop their skills on the court.

Through dedication, hard work, and a commitment to growth, Dark Sky Elite continues to give Northern Arizona's young basketball players the platform to pursue their dreams.

Dark Sky Academy  

Dark Sky Academy, founded in early 2025 by Coach Alex Santiago, is dedicated to filling the gap in youth basketball skill development. After witnessing the explosive growth of Dark Sky Elite, Coach Alex recognized the need for a program focused on building strong fundamentals, boosting confidence, and deepening young athletes' understanding of the game.

Dark Sky Academy isn't just about playing—it's about mastering the craft. Whether players are looking to refine their technique, strengthen their mindset, or develop a true basketball IQ, this program provides the structured training needed to help them grow. By focusing on skill development and foundational knowledge, Dark Sky Academy is shaping the next generation of athletes and ensuring they have the tools to excel both on and off the court
